5 Years Loyal, Now Abandoned: Brixly's Collapse After Enix Takeover"
I hosted with Brixly for over five years. The first three years were exceptional—reliable, responsive, professional. Then Enix acquired Brixly, and everything deteriorated. The Decline: Since the acquisition, Brixly has repeatedly removed critical security features without notice, forcing users into outdated, compromised configurations. I've dealt with recurring email delivery failures for weeks at a time—domains blacklisted by Google and Microsoft despite active SSL protection. Support was slow to acknowledge, slower to fix. Their "in-house email delivery solution" took months to develop and still isn't reliable. Result: I've lost 60% of my client base directly because of these failures. The Final Straw: When my account suspended due to overdue payments (understandable), Brixly continued billing me for a second month of completely inaccessible service. I offered to pay the first invoice immediately and work out a plan. They refused and demanded full payment for both months—for services I literally could not access or use. Their position: "We're storing your data, so we charge the full price, even when the service is broken and suspended." This isn't how professional hosting companies operate. They're charging you for infrastructure they failed to maintain properly, then demanding you pay again while you're locked out. What I Learned: Brixly's post-Enix management prioritises billing rigidity over customer retention. They don't negotiate. They don't problem-solve. They escalate. After five years of loyalty, I wasn't worth a single conversation about fairness. My Advice: If you value stability, transparency, and actual support—look elsewhere. There are hosting providers who won't deprecate your security features in the dark, won't let your email rot for weeks, and won't charge you for broken services while locking you out. Don't make my mistake. Leave before you lose your clients too.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOSTER. THEY DON'T KEEP APPOINTMENTS AND DON'T DELIVER WHAT THEY ONCE DID.
Became a customer of Brixly in 2021 and everything was fine. Great spam filter, great outgoing spam filter, fast hosting and excellent support. And then they were acquired...
After the acquisition, things deteriorated hard, very hard as we often see with acquisitions. Two of the biggest pluses were removed immediately (SpamExperts and MailChannels) and what remained was all misery with spam in your mail and your own email not arriving.
Support also deteriorated very badly. The once great support has all gone to the 2nd tier and what is left are incompetent co-workers who say nothing is wrong (until it gets to line 2 and something is wrong anyway). Support times have gone from 20 minutes to 8+ hours.
2x major outages in a week, created a ticket with status Urgent and after 8 a response saying nothing was wrong, indicated they needed to look at it again and after another few hours it got to line 2 and they did see something was wrong.
Indicated I want to terminate my contract and face a credit for the remaining months, after all they have breached contract by removing two services. At first this was not possible but after pointing out to them a reaction; After consultation with “higher management” I was going to get a credit for the remaining period (€ 400,- +). And then a message from higher management in which it came down to the fact that I could whistle for my money and they came with a “compensation” of 12 months hosting. Worthless because I do not want to stay with this party any longer.
Small examples showing that Brixly is no longer the party they once were and also afraid of feedback/questions; - After takeover not being able to respond to blog posts or to their roadmap / feature requests. - No longer able to give a status to tickets themselves - Support times from 20 minutes to 8+ hours - Migrations have been postponed twice and moved by 1.5 months - Promises (black on white) that are not kept - Always paid via Creditcard/PayPal and now suddenly I would have paid via credit on my account (which means they don't do a chargeback anyway).
I have since moved everything away from Brixly, do yourself a favor and choose another hoster!
Enix LTD also owns: - Hostpresto - Eco Webhosting - Eco Hosting Again you read the same stories; dramatic since the takeover.
I stand by this review. Don't go near this company. Since they were sold in 2024 they have only caused me harm and seriously damaged my reputation with my customers. I will add that they use weak processors and this is noticeable on WordPress sites. Your customers will get discouraged by a crawling admin when there are more than 15 plugins and will leave you. They also make all sorts of strange changes and I am constantly working hard to give feedback and ask for corrections. Lots of problems with backups, emails, slowness. Don't go near them!!
Good and reliable service with a security problem.
Good and reliable service with a security problem. You can browse to their directory index in CPANEL and they are not ready to change the depolative definition. Strange and serious.
Just Loved Their Services. Exilent Support. Great Hosting Quality. anyone can take their hosting easily. they very fast to response. i would love to recomment it.
I've had the pleasure of using Brixly for almost 4 years, having used many different hosting/reseller hosting providers before - and moved away from them for different reasons. I have reseller hosting with them, as well as some standalone products - such as their Elastic Cloud plan.
I really cannot recommend Brixly highly enough. Their pricing is fantastic, their functionality and service offering is bang on... but for me - what makes them completely stand out from the rest, is the exceptionally high level of customer service that they offer, for the few times it might be needed.
Even if it's not an issue with their service, they are always friendly, and very willing to help and offer general advice.
I recently had an issue with surges in demand for one of my clients, which was time-sensitive and a reputational issue for me if I couldn't get it sorted. I raised a high priority support ticket, and was contacted back almost immediately.
Now, this was on a Sunday...outside of working hours... and it wasn't any fault of Brixly. I just needed to scale-up my capacity. But that didn't matter - it was picked up and help was there.
It was the Dennis - their Snr. Technical Analyst & CEO of the company that personally rang me to help me get it sorted (8pm on a Sunday night!) and advise the best way forward. This was then followed up in the morning by Danny, their Technical Support Manager - who made sure everything was now working as it should do and even offered his time to help me migrate from one server to another... totally free of charge.
This is just one example of a recent interaction. I could list many other interactions - all have been positive.
If you are with anyone else for your Cloud/Reseller hosting needs - move to Brixly now. You won't regret it.
Unfortunately, they only allow 70 outgoing emails per hour. which means if a company has 10 employees, the max emails that can be sent is 6 emails per employee per hour. If outgoing mails is not really important to you, i would recommend using brixly.
From the experience of that company I would like to present the advantages and disadvantages, Advantages: - This guys offer a competitive prices i trust that you will interest. - They are some times friendly and other time they don't have a durability for customers many inquiries. - They have a good support team, that handling issues anytime. - They have a lot of free features that you will get without any cost, powerful backup, website builder and free let's encrypt SSLs.
Now for the disadvantages: - The only issue that i facing every time with them it's a DDOS Attackers, many times they told us that DDOS attacks the server and they will move us to other server, from time to another the issue repeated more than one time, and they promises us that's not will happen again although that happen, finally we decided to move to another provider.
