Squidix is a full IT consulting firm that works with individuals and companies to provide them with high quality services. They are based in the Washington, DC area and have been in business since 2010. The company offers web design and development services, website management, graphic design, mobile app development, internet marketing and of course, web hosting services. They can really serve as your one stop shop for all your IT needs.
The hosting with this company is very reliable. They use only high quality servers and never oversell them. I didn’t find anyone complaining about downtime or even slowness, which is obviously a very good sign. I also didn’t see any type of uptime guarantee, but that is not necessary anything to be concerned about.
While they have many features that are not related to their hosting services, this review section will look just at the hosting items. First, they have shared hosting, VPS hosting and dedicated servers available to choose from so they can meet the needs of just about anyone.
The shared hosting comes in two options, one of them with 10 gigs and one with 25 gigs of disk space. Both have solid state drives and unlimited bandwidth. In addition they come with a free domain name (if you pay annually) and free migration from an old host if needed. They also offer free performance audits and SEO reports.
There are six options for VPS hosting ranging from 2 to 64 gigs of RAM. They come with anywhere from 48 Gig to 1.5TB of solid state disk space. There are limits on bandwidth at this level, but they are quite high so they aren’t anything to worry about.
There are six dedicated server options as well. These are fully managed servers with good Intel Xeon CPUs. Memory ranges from 8 gig to 128 gig and the disk space is broken up with 2 SSDs and 2 SATA drives configured with RAID 1.
The technical support team is there to help you with whatever you need. You can reach out to them 24/7/365 and they will address your issues quickly and easily. They can be reached through a ticketing system, phone or email and are fast to reply with whatever you need. They do have a client area as well, which offers some valuable information about their hosting services.
The pricing varies significantly from package to package. The shared hosting is $4.95 per month and $9.95 per month depending on the package, but after the first year it goes to $9.95 and $19.95 per month, so be aware of that.
VPS ranges from $50 to $1200 per month. This is some of the highest prices I’ve seen for VPS, but they do have good quality hardware. It is really hard to justify $1200 per month for a VPS though no matter what.
Dedicated servers start at $105 and go up to $480. The prices shoot up after the first month to $175 and up to $800 depending on the server you choose. These prices are quite high for what you’re getting.
If you can get past the prices, this is a great hosting provider. They also offer a lot of other IT solutions that can really help some businesses with their day to day operations. If you’re using their other IT services it may be a good move to use them for hosting as well. If not, however, you can likely find hosting that is as good at a much lower price.
