I wanted to see how Time4VPS servers performed under real-world conditions, so I used the domain I’d set up with them (more on that later) and put it to the test using GTMetrix.

Like most hosts, Time4VPS promises a 99.9% uptime guarantee, which is the industry standard, and it kept to this. Some of the response times were a little bit slow, but the fully load time remained pretty standard – so I’d rate it a solid average. 

These are good results for smaller websites or less demanding apps, but it may need optimization (or another provider) for bigger requirements!

You can get support from the Time4VPS team either by telephone, email, live chat, or filling out the contact form on the website. There’s also a comprehensive knowledge base, which I found really helpful. 

Contact Form

If you’re not already a paying customer, you can fill in the contact form on the Time4VPS website. This sends your general query to their team. 

I sent one off, but didn’t get a response yet. 

Phone Support

You can also contact the Time4VPS support team via the phone line, however there’s just one number and it’s not toll-free. This obviously isn’t ideal for international customers. 

Live Chat

I thought I’d give the live chat feature a go, to compare this to some competitors that I’ve personally used. 

I sent a message, and got a response within 2 minutes to a pretty basic question. This isn’t super quick, and honestly left a lot to be desired in the actual answer.

User-Friendliness – Ease of use

If you’re not as tech-savvy, or you’re just looking for more basic controls, simplified usability can be an essential consideration. 

I wanted to see how it felt to walk through the user journey on the Time4VPS platform, from registration to server management, and see how easy the features really are. Want to know how they did? 

Registration

With Time4VPS, you’re required to sign up for an account before you can purchase a hosting plan or domain. 

Fill in the required information fields, and then login to the user dashboard. 

Purchasing a Server

From the dashboard, click on the new order tab under the main menu. From here, you can optimize your server and plan details to suit your needs. 

This took a couple of minutes, and the overall process was straightforward and intuitive. 

Time4VPS Control Panel

You’ll need to install the Time4VPS control panel and WHM in your account (from the user dashboard), but this is really simple. 

Go to My Services, then VPS, and Manage. When you’re here, click Install OS, select your preferred operating system, and continue. 

I really appreciated the choice of control panel operating systems, but having to wait 5-10 minutes for it all to install wasn’t ideal. 

For me personally, I don’t think the specific control panel matters as much as it being a clean, intuitive experience. However this is preference, and for some it might be more important to use the cPanel they’re more familiar with. 

Installing WordPress on Time4VPS

There’s no one-click installation for WordPress on Time4VPS, but it’s still very easy to set up. 

Head to the Applications tab, then search for your desired application (in this case, WordPress). Go through the install wizard, and you’re done! 

Time4VPS also takes care of any WordPress updates automatically, so your site always benefits from the most up-to-date version. 

Add Email Accounts on Time4VPS

Sign in to the cPanel, head to the email section, and click Email Accounts. From here, click + Create, and fill out the information fields. 

This all took a minute or so, and was pretty standard procedure. 

Conclusion: Do We Recommend Time4VPS?

I found Time4VPS performed decently well, but there were definitely areas for optimization. Customer support wasn’t the best I’ve ever used, either. 

But Time4VPS also continues to offer affordable VPS hosting plans with decent features, and a flexible user experience thanks to its ability to power multiple cPanel operating systems. And, with fully-managed options, you can focus on creating the very best content. 

While they might not be the strongest overall provider, they offer solid, budget-friendly hosting solutions to those who might just be starting out – or that suit smaller, personal projects. They’ve got great user reviews; they must be doing something right!
