Writing as an active customer who wanted to use the company's services — but ran into obstacles the service makes no effort to resolve.
1. VPN servers are unavailable, no compensation offered. I purchased the Starter VPN plan in April 2026. UK, US, and Canada servers are inaccessible when connecting from Russia. I contacted support (Ticket #639549) and, on my own initiative, collected and submitted logs — without being asked. The ticket was closed without a resolution: "The VPN service is not entirely under our control and we are unable to make any adjustments." No compensation was offered for non-functioning features — citing the terms of use.
2. Billing fired against the customer's own settings. A renewal invoice arrived while my Starter VPN subscription was still active. The Auto Renew option in my account was set to Off. The error was acknowledged and corrected only after I manually contacted support (Ticket #248945).
3. Unsubscribing from the mailing list is impossible — and that's an architectural problem. There is no unsubscribe button for marketing emails anywhere in the account panel. I contacted support (Ticket #248945). The response: "Unfortunately, we do not currently have such an option." The ticket was forcibly closed. I raised the issue again — the next reply did not address the question, and the ticket was forcibly closed again.
Critical security alerts and marketing emails are sent through the same Mailchimp channel from a promo@ address. If you unsubscribe via the link in the email, you risk missing critical server security notifications. This is not merely an inconvenience — it is an architectural flaw that violates both GDPR and Mailchimp's own terms of service.
The company has been operating since 2008. It is strange to see the absence of a basic unsubscribe mechanism from a provider with that kind of track record.
4. There is nowhere to file a complaint about a staff member. The complaint form on the website only accepts reports of violations committed by hosting clients. There is no channel for feedback about the conduct of employees acting on behalf of the company. No direct management contacts are available. When I referenced applicable legislation, a staff member replied: "I don't think you should be trying to scare us." There is nowhere to escalate.
Two tickets closed. One out of four issues resolved. An identical review has been published on Trustpilot. No response in 92 hours.
Suspended Without Warning, Then Refused Reactivation Even After “Incident Resolved”
I purchased a 1-year server from AlexHost and my service was suddenly suspended with absolutely no prior warning or notification. I was never contacted beforehand and was not given any chance to review or fix any alleged issue before they took the server offline.
When I opened a ticket, AlexHost stated that their system does not notify customers about service suspensions. That is unacceptable for a hosting provider, especially when a customer is on an annual prepaid plan.
They claimed the suspension was due to a Netcraft incident report and told me the only way to reactivate service is to contact Netcraft and get the incident marked as a false-positive/removed. I followed their instructions and Netcraft now shows “Incident Resolved” for the incident. Despite this, AlexHost still refuses to restore my service, saying that “resolved” is not enough and the report must be deleted/changed in a specific way.
In reality, this policy puts customers in a dead-end situation because Netcraft can take weeks to respond (or not respond at all), and hosts should not use a third party’s slow administrative process as a reason to keep a paid server offline indefinitely. Since AlexHost also does not provide refunds, the end result is paying for a service that can be suspended without warning and kept offline even after the incident is resolved.
I cannot recommend AlexHost due to the lack of notification, poor escalation process, and the unreasonable reactivation requirements.
I think that kind of response makes it clear and warns you that the services provided will be suspended due to a generic DMCA takedown notice sent by some Indian employee from Sony or similar. Don't buy here, and if you do, manually encrypt all your traffic and hard drive.
Terminated my hosting and deleted all data without a prior notice
I had a hosting account with alexhost.com
I renewed the service, but the renewal invoice was refunded by mistake. I topup my balance and tried to pay the invoice again from the balance. It did not work and I opened a support ticket to pay the invoice from the account balance. Support staff replied that they done it, my account was charged, invoice marked as paid and service was shown with next due data January 2026.
After a week I received the email the hosting is terminated. I contacted the support team via the same ticket and they replied with the worst style of Romanian mentality: in Romanian language saying that the hosting was canceled because I didnt pay it.
An exchange of the messages did not give any result, they didnt have any courage to admit their mistake (again in the worst style of Romanian mentality). And the final thing they refused to give me a full refund, saying they paid something to paypal. I know how PayPal works, if you issue the full refund then you are not charged any transaction fee.
I dont feel they wanted to scam to me, they are just unprofessional and didnt properly renew the hosting when they said they did.
End result: lost all data, didnt get a full refund, didnt even hear sorry.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review about us Alexhost
At AlexHost, we’ve come to recognize a familiar pattern: services are used in ways that clearly violate our policies, thorough investigations are conducted, and only then are accounts suspended — yet somehow, the user is always “completely unaware” of any wrongdoing.
It’s remarkable how often phishing, spam campaigns, or fraudulent activity manage to occur entirely without the knowledge or involvement of the account holder. Some might even say these abuses seem to happen all on their own.
To clarify: offering offshore or DMCA-ignored hosting does not mean we turn a blind eye to illegal activity. Our infrastructure is not a safe haven for fraud, spam, or phishing — and we take pride in applying that standard consistently, regardless of what label the service carries.
We understand it’s easier to claim innocence than to acknowledge a suspension backed by logs, complaints, and evidence. Nonetheless, we remain committed to protecting our network, and by extension, all of our honest, rule-abiding customers.
Should there be any genuine misunderstanding — one not contradicted by the facts — our support team is always open to review.
excellent dedicated with a speed of 294 mbps, I bought it at a discount! I found an opportunity for myself to buy it for less than 40 eur per month, and I want to say that the uptime pleasantly surprised me. I will continue to use the service, I have never regretted the purchase, recommend alexhost
I am reporting support for criminal activity through alexhost.com. The website supports criminal activities on the websites: fuckchaturgirls.com, webcam-record.com, manyrecs.com, etc., which illegally record people streaming on the chaturbate.com platform and share the recordings on their websites, earning a lot of money from it.
At AlexHost, we are committed to maintaining a reliable and responsible hosting environment. We do not tolerate any form of abuse on our network, and all reports are carefully reviewed and investigated.
While we respect the privacy and autonomy of our clients, we also take necessary measures when violations are identified. Any misuse of our services that contradicts our acceptable use policies is subject to appropriate action based on a thorough analysis.
We strive to ensure that our infrastructure is used in a lawful and ethical manner, aligning with both industry standards and our internal commitment to integrity and accountability.
Every time I try and log on to the main page, I get an error 400 or 500 error where its all dark and the page not available looks like they are not protected from DDoS on their own servers which is pretty pathetic
