Liquid Web’s reputation for high-performance hosting and 24/7 expert support led me to test their services with a real website, and I was immediately impressed by the user-friendly Plesk control panel and effortless migration.
However, it wasn’t all perfect. While Liquid Web has excellent scalability and enterprise-level features, their pricing could be steep, particularly after the first billing cycle.
That said, Liquid Web offers a reliable solution for businesses looking for high-performance hosting with robust security and customization options, and I think they’d be the perfect fit for businesses that prioritize uptime and features over cost.
Still not sure if Liquid Web is the hosting provider for you? Let’s have a look!

We’ve developed a clear rating methodology to ensure a comprehensive and fair evaluation of the services we review. This system helps us assess key parameters like pricing, features, performance, ease of use, and support, ensuring we provide well-rounded, data-backed scores for each brand.
Our goal is to give you a thorough understanding of each provider’s strengths and areas for improvement. This is how Liquid Web performed:
| Parameter | Score | Why did we give this score? |
| Prices | 8.5 | Some budget-friendly beginner options, but higher renewal rates than many competitors. Good value for performance. |
| Features | 9.0 | Enterprise-level features, such as managed services, scalability, automatic backups, and robust security. Excellent migration support. |
| Ease of Use | 9.0 | Streamlined and intuitive user interface, with simplified Plesk control server management to reduce setup and maintenance. |
| Performance | 9.1 | Strong overall performance, with fast speeds and reliable uptime. Memory and disk speed could be optimized for more resource-intensive sites. |

| Overall | 9.02 | Liquid Web offers exceptional customer service, a strong feature set, and reliable performance, making the higher rates an acceptable downside for projects with bigger budgets, or requiring something more intense. |

With a wide range of hosting services, Liquid Web provides options catering to almost all project sizes and requirements.
Their 30-day money-back guarantee for managed VPS, managed cloud, and dedicated server hosting also offers users peace of mind – and I appreciated this assurance when I was purchasing the server for testing.
Liquid Web accepts payment via credit card, PayPal, check, and wire transfer, making payments simple, whatever your preferred method.

I decided to review the ease of use of Liquid Web because it’s known for offering a range of hosting options with powerful features.
Starting with registration, and going through dashboard and cPanel controls, here’s how it went.
The first step is straightforward, just go to the homepage and select your preferred hosting type – I went with Windows VPS for the tests.

I was then redirected to a page containing Windows VPS plan choices and clicked Buy Now.

Next, I needed to configure my hosting plan, including billing cycle, data center location, and server template. This is all pretty standard, and Liquid Web made the process simply by having it all on one page.

After clicking Checkout, adding my payment details, and accepting Liquid Web’s terms, I was able to create an account.
The form was a breeze, and I was then able to click Place Your Order to finalize the purchase. I then received my confirmation email instantly, and was able to login to my Liquid Web account.

The dashboard is the first thing you see when you log in. This is where you can access all your services, including your Windows VPS, domains, support, and more. The interface is clean, and everything is organized clearly.
To access my new Windows VPS, I hovered over Servers in the top menu and selected Servers List. This brought me to a page where I could manage all my active servers. I clicked on the name of my server to access the server details.
Accessing the Liquid Web dashboard is easy, and even beginners shouldn’t struggle to find the necessary tools.

The server dashboard allows you to view its RAM and CPU usage, networking and backup information, firewall status, and overall server health.
Plesk is one of the most popular and user-friendly tools for managing hosting services, and is offered by Liquid Web as the default control panel.
It’s a complete server management suite that simplifies configuring, maintaining, and monitoring your server. I could access Plesk directly from the Liquid Web dashboard by clicking the Plesk button.

Once logged in, I was taken to the Plesk Obsidian interface, the latest version at the time. This interface offers a sleek and well-organized environment for managing my Windows VPS.

Here, I was able to manage my hosting services and server settings, and install applications such as WordPress, Joomla, and Laravel for further customized development options.
Plesk is an incredibly powerful yet user-friendly tool that provides everything you need to manage your server and hosting services in one place – and I think it’s a massive plus to be included by Liquid Web’s hosting solutions.
One of Liquid Web’s most powerful features, in my opinion, is its Server Console – providing direct access to the operating system for complete control and configuration.
Accessing this was easy, I simply needed to click the Console button under server dashboard, opening up a direct connection to the Windows server I purchased.

This is an advanced tool, and I was able to execute commands, modify server settings, and troubleshoot issues without needing a separate remote desktop. This feature is especially useful if you need to manage your server manually or diagnose and fix issues on the fly.

The Server Console is incredibly powerful, giving you full control over your server. It’s perfect for advanced users or businesses that require the ability to manage their server directly and make real-time adjustments.
Overall, the Liquid Web experience was intuitive and user-friendly. The registration process was smooth, the dashboard provided easy access to everything I needed, and Plesk made managing my server a breeze.
I was particularly impressed with the Plesk interface, which offers an abundance of options in a neatly organized format. It streamlines server management, especially for those who aren’t well-versed in server configurations.

I wanted to test, evaluate, and compare a few different Liquid Web hosting solutions.
To evaluate the performance of Liquid Web’s Windows VPS, I decided to test the server I purchased using ping, speed, and various performance and memory tests.
These tests will help assess the latency, download/upload speeds, and overall performance of the server, ensuring it meets the requirements for hosting applications or high-traffic websites.
My Liquid Web VPS server has the following specifications:
|
|
For the first test, I ran a Ping Test to measure the latency between my server and a remote server (in this case, Google). The results were excellent in the US-Central region, with overall minimal delay and decent network stability.
ping google.com
The Ping Test measures the round-trip time it takes for a data packet to travel from your server to a target server and back. The lower the number, the faster the connection.

Next, I ran a speed test using Ookla, a popular tool for measuring download and upload speeds. The results were solid for both upload and downloads, making Liquid Web VPS hosting more than quick enough for more high-traffic websites.

|
|

For the final test, I used PassMark PerformanceTest 11.1 to assess the server’s overall performance, including CPU, memory, and disk performance.
The results were good, indicating that Liquid Web’s VPS hosting performs (on average) better than 67% of all tested servers.

Overall, the test results for Liquid Web’s Windows VPS are very strong. Liquid Web’s Windows VPS server performs well across the board. This server is a solid choice if you need a server for high-performance applications, data-heavy tasks, or enterprise-level hosting. It can effectively handle a wide range of use cases.
In addition to testing the Windows VPS provided by Liquid Web, I also ran performance tests on a Linux VPS. My new server has the following specifications.
|
|
To ensure I got a comprehensive view of how the Linux VPS performs under load, I ran sysbench tests – an open-source benchmarking tool used to test the CPU and memory performance of servers.
The first test I ran on the Linux VPS was the CPU Performance Test. The results were strong, with decent latency values and generally quick response times.
I ran the following sysbench command to test CPU performance:
sysbench cpu –cpu-max-prime=20000 –threads=1 run
For a 1-core server, the CPU performance is decent, but not extraordinary. If you need higher computational power, this VPS may not be ideal for very CPU-intensive applications.

|
|

Next, I tested the memory performance to gauge how well the server handles memory operations. The results show that Liquid Web VPS hosting can generally handle moderate workloads, but offer efficient response times.
I used the following sysbench command to run the memory test:
sysbench memory –memory-block-size=8K –memory-total-size=10240M run

Liquid Web Linux VPS Hosting Performance – Final Thoughts
This server’s memory performance is quite good, particularly for its size. It’s more than capable of handling standard web hosting tasks and moderate workloads. However, due to its limited RAM, this server might struggle with memory-heavy applications.
I think it would be a solid choice for small- to medium- sized websites or applications, that don’t require too much memory usage or CPU. If you’re planning to host a high-traffic site or resource-heavy applications, consider a VPS with more resources.

Liquid Web offers several support options designed to provide customers with various ways to get help, whether through live chat, tickets, phone support, or a knowledge base.
With performance living up to the hype, and prices being seemingly fair, I decided to test all of these support methods to evaluate their effectiveness and provide a detailed review of my experiences.
To start my review, I decided to test live chat support. After clicking the Support Chat button, I was asked to select the relevant department and briefly describe my query.
The initial response time was immediate, and I was connected to a human support agent right away. But while response times were fast initially, I then had to wait a few minutes for the agent to confirm and review my query.

I was then transferred to another agent, who was able to tell me that they couldn’t assist with my specific issue. Honestly, I was a little disappointed that the Liquid Web live chat agents couldn’t help at this level.
Next, I decided to test email ticket support – and this seemed a lot more promising. I received a response to my ticket just 17 minutes after sending, and the agent was able to provide professional advice for my issue.

The response was detailed and helpful, and I received clear steps and useful resources from the Liquid Web ticket support agent.
To fully test Liquid Web’s support, I also contacted their customer service team via their 24/7 toll-free number.
Number: 1-800-580-4985
This support line is excellent for urgent issues or those requiring immediate attention, and I was quickly connected to an agent. They were able to effectively and professionally assist with my questions, and I was impressed with the level of service offered by Liquid Web’s phone team.
Liquid Web also have a general enquiries contact form on their homepage, so I thought we could check how this works, too. This is useful for situations that aren’t time-sensitive or when you have general questions.

After submitting my request through the form, I received an email response from their support team. The email included the relevant details I needed to proceed with my inquiry and I was happy with this level of support overall.
Finally, I explored the Knowledge Base, a valuable self-help resource on the Liquid Web website. It provides a wealth of information, including guides, troubleshooting steps, and documentation on various topics.

Here, I found a load of helpful articles on a range of topics that are designed to guide you through common issues, without the need to contact support. It’s comprehensive and well-organized, and an excellent resource for independent problem-solving of hosting issues.
Liquid Web’s customer service is responsive, knowledgeable, and easily accessible. Their support channels are well-suited for different issues, whether you need immediate help or prefer to troubleshoot independently.
Through my testing, it became clear that ticket support was the standout method for direct assistance, with phone support available for more urgent situations and a comprehensive knowledge base for self-help.

From my experience, Liquid Web stands out as a premium hosting provider, and it’s clear their services are designed for businesses that need more than basic hosting.
Their managed services immediately caught my attention. With great performance results across the board, the slightly higher prices can be forgiven if budget isn’t the priority. While it’s not cheap, if you’re willing to pay for quality, the reliability, support, and performance are worth the investment.
Personally? I’m willing to pay for that kind of peace of mind, knowing that experts fully manage and handle the hosting side of things.
